CNC Lathe Set-Up/Operator
Under the
direction of the Machine Shop Supervisor, the candidate will:

Perform
somewhat diversified duties to set-up and operate the CNC lathes
to produce and/or modify parts.

Review job folders for existing jobs (including blueprints) and
determine work holding and tooling. Start, set-up and operate
CNC Lathes, performing TPM (Total Preventative Maintenance)
checks for oil, coolant levels, filters and other parts of the
machines, as required. Perform inspections on first piece and
in-process parts for each job and make adjustments to machine
offsets, as necessary, to meet blueprint specifications and all
tolerance requirements.

Run
production, change inserts or tools, move or change offsets, as
required for the job, touching off tools when needed for job
changeovers, which may require changing jaws or collets,
including changing tools or adjusting programs.

Operate other CNC machinery as assigned, performing duties
similar to above. Cross train on other machines within the
Machine Shop, as directed or assigned.

Maintain work area in a clean
and orderly condition, per 5S standards. Keep all charts updated
for each assigned machine. Participate in Team Meetings,
contributing ideas for continuous improvement. Perform related
duties as required or assigned.
